As Korean Americans, we are deeply grateful for the opportunities this nation has provided us. Guided by our core values, we are committed to giving back — particularly to those who are most vulnerable and underserved.
While our philanthropic mission serves all communities, we maintain a special focus on Korean Americans in Southern California, whose unique needs are often overlooked. To further this mission, we founded the Korean American Foundation (KAF), which serves as this community's trusted steward of charitable funds.
With transparency, integrity, and efficiency as our guiding principles, KAF fosters a culture of philanthropy, mobilizes resources, and distributes grants to thoroughly vetted organizations with a proven record of real-world impact.

KOREAN DESCENT
Los Angeles County is home to 230,000 people of Korean descent, making up over a fifth of the country’s entire Korean population. This is the largest urban concentration of people of Korean descent outside of Korea.
NEGLECTED
COMMUNITY
The model minority myth creates an inaccurate perception that all Korean Americans are educated, accomplished, and wealthy. This false impression leads us to neglect the real poverty, suffering, and needs of the Korean American community.
HIGH LEVELS

High levels of Limited English proficiency (LEP) and linguistic isolation prevent Korean Americans from accessing and utilizing needed resources.
