LOS ANGELES, CA – Korean American Foundation (KAF) has opened its first dedicated office, marking a major milestone in the organization’s growth since its founding in 2018.

Since its inception, KAF has operated out of another organization’s office as a way to minimize overhead and direct more resources toward its mission. KAF has now established its own office on the third floor of 3530 Wilshire Blvd (formerly the Asiana Building) in Los Angeles.

The new office spans approximately 1,700 square feet and includes a conference room that can accommodate 50 to 60 people. It will allow KAF to host a wider range of convenings, including trainings for community-based organizations (CBOs) and programs that bring together donors, partners, and community leaders.

“We have intentionally operated lean to prioritize funding for the community,” said Chairman John Lim. “This office allows us to invest more deeply in the people and organizations advancing the Korean American community.”

KAF is a community foundation established in October 2018 to advance the well-being and long-term sustainability of the Korean American community in Southern California. To date, KAF has awarded more than $2.7 million in grants to over 50 nonprofit organizations.

The new office was made possible in part through a $150,000 capacity-building matching gift from Board Member Robin Kim. Bank of Hope donated office furniture, and local artist Mike Han contributed original paintings and furniture to the space.

KAF extends its appreciation to all supporters who helped make this milestone possible.
